The Harold Hamm Diabetes Research Symposium is an annual, one day meeting for all researchers whose work relates to diabetes. Its aim is to bring together diabetes researchers working in Oklahoma, regardless of age, experience, or scientific discipline. The meeting is intended to inform participants about the interests of other investigators, and to stimulate discussion and new collaborations.

This is a campus-wide research symposium. We usually have more than 100 participants from different departments and OMRF. This is a good opportunity for your colleagues to know your research and for you to receive comments and suggestions and to find collaborators.

This year's meeting will be held at the Samis Education Center - 1200 Children's Avenue in Oklahoma City on Friday, October 14, 2014, 7:30 am to 4:30pm. It will consist of a series of 20 minute oral presentations (including 5 minute discussion time), and poster presentations.

The best posters and oral presentations by young investigators will be recognized with awards given to the authors based on judges’ review.  There will be awards in each of the three categories (oral, clinical poster, research poster).  The number of these awards will depend on the number of entries in each of the categories.

The meeting will end with a lecture by our keynote speaker, Thomas L. Clemens, Ph.D., Lewis Cass Spencer Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Vice Chair for Research, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD
