Collaborative Spaces Technology Standards

Academic Technology and the OU Turnpike Team have compiled sets of technology standards that are to apply to all Interactive, Collaboration and Learning Spaces/Classrooms on both HSC campuses.

Whether designing a new space or updating an existing, these standards should be referenced and adhered to. Click here to view the Academic Technology Standards.

A/V Conferencing Security Standard

Academic Technology (AT) and HSC Information Technology (IT) updated the Polycom A/V Security Standard to become a more inclusive Audio-Video Conferencing Security Standard that can be used by OUHSC departments to streamline the risk assessment and purchasing process for an entire suite of A/V products including all Polycom videoconferencing systems.

Departments that request A/V technology through AT, and said technology meets the Standard, will not need to submit an IT Product Review/Technology Risk Assessment request.  All technology products listed on the new Standard have underwent the IT Product Review/Risk Assessment.  When possible, devices listed on the Standard will be considered "pre-configured" by AT to meet the majority of requirements to address identified risks.

Please review the new Standard so you will know and understand the IS Administrator responsibilities for security configurations on a per deployment basis.

PLEASE NOTE that “an active service contract must be maintained for each Polycom device to ensure all security patches and updates are available for each device.”  If you are operating a Polycom videoconferencing system without an active service contract you are not in compliance with the policy.  Your department will need to renew the Polycom service contract in order to remain on the HSC-IT network.

Beginning July 1, 2018, HSC-IT and AT will begin enforcing the requirement for active vendor support contracts and will not allow non-compliant Polycom devices to connect to the campus video infrastructure.

To renew your Polycom maintenance contract, please contact AT or AMDS for a list of approved vendors.  You will need to provide the Polycom model(s) and serial number(s), along with the college or departmental point of contact information.
