Academic Technology (AT) and HSC Information Technology (IT) updated the Polycom A/V Security Standard to become a more inclusive Audio-Video Conferencing Security Standard that can be used by OUHSC departments to streamline the risk assessment and purchasing process for an entire suite of A/V products including all Polycom systems.
Departments that request A/V technology through AT and that meets the Standard will not need to submit an IT Product Review/Technology Risk Assessment request. All the technology products listed on the new Standard have already undergone an IT Product Review/Risk Assessment. When possible, devices on the Standard will be pre-configured by AT to meet the majority of requirements to address identified risks.
Please review the new Standard so you will know the IS Administrator responsibilities for security configurations on a per deployment basis.

Note that “an active service contract must be maintained for each Polycom device to ensure all security patches and updates are available for each device.” If you have Polycom's without an active service contract, you will need to plan on acquiring the support contract over the next fiscal year.
Beginning July 1, 2018 IT and AT will begin enforcing the requirement for active vendor support contracts and will not allow non-compliant Polycom devices to connect to the campus video infrastructure.
For those that wish to bring their codec(s) into compliance, please email Greg.Maniss@skccom.com, Angela.Jones@skccom.com and Erin.Belenky@skccom.com to request a Polycom maintenance contract quote. Provide SKC with the Polycom model and serial number, along with the college or departmental point of contact information.
