If you think that science research using computers is your favorite,

* Major in biology or chemistry or biochemistry with some higher level computer use and some statistics classes.

* Take courses with a laboratory section.

* See if you can get a work/study job or thesis project or research position (part-time) to participate in bioinformatics (ask guidance counselors; this may be during a summer or school year).

* Some of the higher level jobs require a Masters (M.S. -2 years) or a Doctorate (Ph.D. -2 to 6 years). When you are a junior, check into the job market (WWW, newspaper, guidance counselor, job search sites) or graduate school.
