If you think that the legal career is your favorite,

* Take some biology courses (chemistry nice, too) - majoring in these subjects is fine for the Biotech lawyer career track.

* Take at least one lab class (need to know how science process works!).

* See if any law classes offered at your school or take some political science or pre-law classes.

* See if you can volunteer or gofer with a law firm doing biotech or science patents (call offices around town).

* Check out the Patent and Trademark Office WWW Site (PTO) to see what kind of activity is currently going on.

Please note that many scientists will change over to a new career in obtaining patents or ruling on legal issues; the lab experience sure helps!
