End-of-Semester Best Practice

At the end of a semester, that last thing most of us want to do is more paper work or - in the online environment - more "clicking" work. However, several best practices for managing Bb courses have been identified that can increase both the security and reusability of your hard work throughout the semester. For questions about these or other procedures, please contact your CHaLK team member or web-courses@ouhsc.edu.

These best practices generally fall into three (3) areas:

Course Availability
Gradebook Export
Course Archive

When Should I Request a Blackboard Course?

Term

*Recommended “Course Request” Dates

Spring 2008

October 30 – December 3

Summer 2008

April 7 – May 5

Fall 2008

May 5 – June 30

*These are the recommended dates for faculty to request a Blackboard course(s) for the corresponding terms.

Why these dates? The dates correspond with the beginning enrollment period for each term. It provides the appropriate time needed for faculty and/or staff to create and develop each course.
