New Content Features

New content features allow faculty to develop, present and manage content in new and interesting ways. Detailed instructions for all of these features are found in the Blackboard animated quick tutorials.

Syllabus Builder - a Blackboard system "wizard" for creating consistent course syllabi quickly and easily, the syllabus builder tool can also help you to organize your content folders within a Bb course or Community.

Adaptive Release - Tools available to instructors for automatically making content items available to students based on contextual data, such as date & time or individual username or group name as well as by complex performance criteria, such as scores on tests or assignments, completion of surveys or review status. Multiple rules can be applied to any content item to create a comprehensive content release (availability) scenario.

Question Types - Recent upgrades have provided several, more complex, question types available for both tests and surveys.

Test Canvas
Information on each of these questions types and how they work is available from Chapter 12: Assessment in the online instructors manual available from within the control panel (under the Help section) of any course or organization.

Review Status - track user involvement through review status "flags" that students set on material they have read or completed. The Review Status tool allows an Instructor to track user review of specific content items. Once the Instructor enables the tool for an item, each Student tracks their progress.

A Mark Reviewed button appears on the item when the user opens the Content Area. After reviewing the item, the Student selects this button to mark it Reviewed. The Instructor may check the status of Student reviews on the User Progress page.
