Program Overview: Format: Manual contains 159 slides and corresponding lecture notes for a 12-hour educational course on schizophrenia. Participants: The class is taught by mental health professional to families (not including the patients). Topics: 6 topics: Schizophrenia: a brain disease; Course, cause & prognosis; Treatment & recovery; Antipsychotic medications; Psychosocial rehabilitation; Helpful family roles Duration: Each topic has 25 slides & lasts approximately 2 hours. The course could be 6 to 12 sessions, depending on the length of each session. Supplementary Materials: Schizophrenia: Family education methods. $37.50 This text accompanies the above curriculum. It outlines methods of helping families, including support, education, skills training, consultation and therapy. Family skills for relapse prevention. $49.50 This curriculum for professionals focuses on teaching families specific skills they can use to prevent relapse. 5 basic tasks are covered:
