Abstract:
There are many types of quality improvement strategies that can be used to achieve better blood pressure (BP) control. Team-based care models have led to much higher rates of BP control than other strategies. In recent years, researchers have investigated strategies to improve BP management including physician-pharmacist collaborative care or nurse-based strategies. These models have been shown to dramaticallyimprove BP control but differences ecist regarding various approaches. This lecture will review recent controlled, randomized clinical trials that have evaluated nurse or pharmacist-based interventions. (Reference: Carter BL, Bosworth HB, Green BB.
