SEVERE WEATHER / TORNADO PROCEDURES
If severe weather is imminent, if you are outside, move indoors
as quickly as possible. At Schusterman Center, the severe
weather announcement will be made via the public address system.
Turn off any equipment that might be affected by a temporary loss.
(The Schusterman Center often experiences momentary outages
during severe weather).
Facility occupants should move to a designated shelter, if possible.
Stay out of parking garages, auditoriums and exterior walkways.
Stay away from electrical appliances.
Move to an interior hallway, basement or tunnel. Avoid large
glassed areas and windows.
At the Schusterman Center, severe weather shelters are marked by
yellow signs - see the shelter
locations on this page.
Close hallway doors as you leave to shield the corridors from flying
debris.
Use the telephone for emergency calls ONLY.
STAY CALM AND ALERT.
Wait for the all-clear announcement. At Schusterman Center,
this will occur on the public address system.
Call 660-3333 at Schusterman Center (911
for all other facilities) to report any damage.
