Institutional Biosafety Committee

The OUHSC Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) has the charge of reviewing and approving all OUHSC and OU-Tulsa basic and clinical research activities involving recombinant DNA, gene therapy/gene transfer, microorganisms and biological toxins.

IBC Policies and Procedures

Forms:

IBC Protocol Review/Approval Form - for all new projects utilizing recombinant DNA, microorganism, and/or biological toxin(s)
Form for Resubmission of an IBC Approved Project or its Submission to a Different Funding Source - for protocols substantially identical to previously approved projects, such as resubmissions or submissions to a different agency
IBC Human Protocol Approval Form: Gene Transfer, Microorganism Administration, Toxin Administration - for grants/contracts involving the administration of recombinant DNA, microorganisms, or toxins to human subjects
Adverse Biosafety Event Report Form - significant problems, violations of the NIH Guidelines, or any significant research-related accidents and illnesses must be reported to the IBC with this form

Organism/Virus/Toxin Inventory Submission

You must enter "ouhsc/username" and your password at the login prompt. The PI must login to enter the data. A technician may enter the data for the PI, but the PI must login to the system to receive credit.
