Minimum System Requirements
These self-instructional modules do not automatically install on your
computer. They can be run directly from the distribution CD-ROMs. You may also choose
to install them on your hard drive for easy use. A procedure for doing so
with a video illustrating the process can be seen by clicking on the "Hard Disk
Installation" button in the "Begin A.HLP" or "Begin B.HLP" files.
We have excellent success with our modules when used on 486-based computers or
better with at least 1MB of video memory, and Windows™ 95 or later. We
recommend a video configuration of at least 16-bit color (i.e., 32,000 colors or
"High Color") at a resolution of 800x600. If your display is set to 256 colors or
less, there may be degradation in the quality of graphics and video clips.
Also, if your video resolution is less than 800x600 (e.g., 640x480), then some
screens in the modules will extend beyond the viewable area of your display,
requiring use of the scroll bars.
In order to view the video clips, your system must be configured for
multimedia video playback. A CD-ROM speed of 8x or better is recommended for smooth
video playback. In order to hear sounds, your computer must be equipped with
sound capability and speakers.
