Program Goals Education Clinical Training Facilities Application

 

Didactic seminars are offered weekly including:

  • Syllabus Review - where each chapter of the Geriatric Review Syllabus, (J.C. Bed (Ed.), Geriatric Review Syllabus: A Core Curriculum in Geriatric Medicine, New York: American Geriatrics Society), will be reviewed. Held every Wednesday at 10:00 am in the Geriatric Education Room (VAMC, 4B-113g).
  • Geriatric Journal Club - where principles of critical literature review are practiced and new knowledge is garnered from the literature. Held every Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Geriatric Education Room (VAMC, 4B-113g).
  • Clinical Grand Rounds - held by specialty (Geriatrics, Family Medicine, and Internal Medicine).
  • Aging Basic Science Grand Rounds -and- informal research discussion meetings, where campus researchers have an opportunity to present current and on-going research projects.  Various times adn locations. 

Teaching experience is also considered essential and is part of the assigned rotations and electives.
