The OkGEC Scholars Program involves 100 hours of high intensity geriatric/gerontology training for health care providers. All scholars participate in 67 hours of “core” program components which include: Program orientation, Structured Interview, Active Observation, Grand Rounds, Teaching an In-Service, a CQI project, and Attending the Summer Geriatric Institute. Scholars round-out this educational experience by selecting and completing 33 additional hours of educational topics of their choice.
The Scholars Program is largely self-directed with many core and elective activities guided by the Scholar’s preferences. Scholars complete their training in 12 months.
