  76-year-old nursing home patient. Chief dental complaint was difficulty wearing lower denture. Patient thought he had a denture sore. Biopsy confirmed squamous cell carcinoma.

   

• Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Floor of Mouth

  Cancer on floor of mouth

  65 year old white male with history of smoking for over 30 years. He reported for dental assessment without chief complaint. This lesion was found on routine head and neck examination that included a routine oral exam. Biopsy confirmed squamous cell carcinoma.

   

• Hyperkeratosis of Lower Lip

• Skin Metastasis Following Chemotherapy

  

  69 year old patient receiving chemotherapy, seen in dental for initial assessment. It was noted on head and neck examination that patient had numerous skin metastases.

Common sites of primary lesions that can metastasize to the oral cavity are:

• Kidney

• Thyroid

• Prostate

• Colon
