Description: White plaque that
can be rubbed off with gauze, often red under white patches. Caused by
antibiotics (tetracycline), corticosteroids (oral inhalers), and antifungal
agents (griseofulvin).

This infection is common in immuno-compromised
patients, in patients using inhalers containing corticosteroids, in patients
taking long-term antibiotics and patients wearing old contaminated
dentures.
Treatment Planning: Nystatin
and chlorhexidine mouth rinses.
