Donald W. Reynolds Foundation

The Donald W. Reynolds Foundation was founded in 1954 to honor the memory of its benefactor, media entrepreneur Donald Worthington Reynolds. After building a stellar career in newspaper and various other media outlets, Mr. Reynolds built one of the nation’s largest privately owned media companies. During his later years, he awarded large gifts through his foundation to various projects at his alma mater, the University of Missouri and the University of Nevada.

Upon his death in 1993, the Donrey Media Group was sold and a substantial bequest from his estate formed the foundation as it exists today. Aging and Quality of Life Research continues to be a prominent mission of the foundation.

The Reynolds Oklahoma Center on Aging was established as the research arm of the Donald W. Reynolds Department of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2007. Endowment funds were established to support six endowed professorships that form the basis of the center which is committed to the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation’s goal of pursuing cutting edge translational work in the basic science of aging.

We at the Reynolds Oklahoma Center on Aging are grateful for Mr. Reynolds generosity and the vision of the current board of directors.
