  • What is the GREAT Symposium?
GREAT is an acronym for Graduate Research Education and Technology Symposium. The GREAT is a symposium that provides an opportunity for students to present their newest and most exciting scientific concepts and research findings through oral and poster presentations.
  • 35th Annual GREAT Symposium
The Graduate Research Education and Technology (GREAT) Symposium will be held March 30 - April 1, 2010. The major objective of GREAT-2010 will be to provide an opportunity for researchers at the University to showcase their research. A Research Vendor Show, many workshops and a keynote address by Ann W. Richmond, Ph.D. will highlight the symposium's activities.
  • History of GREAT
For the past 35 years, students at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center have showcased their scientific results at the annual GREAT Symposium.  In 1997, the organizing committee of the Graduate Student Association expanded these activities to include workshops as a means of emphasizing and enhancing graduate education.
  • Ways to participate in GREAT
All graduate students are encouraged to participate in GREAT. If you submit your abstract by February 12, 2010, you can present your current research, including literature-based research, in a 10-minute talk or a poster presentation. If you'd like to help organize the Symposium and the Pre-GREAT Workshops, or if you're just available to hang up posters, contact the GREAT Chair, Andy Britt.
