5. Is a patient entitled to inspect or obtain a copy of his/her psychotherapy record?

A patient does not have the right to access psychotherapy notes except to the extent the patient's treating professional approves the access in writing or the patient obtains a court order authorizing access. Psychotherapy notes must be kept separated from the rest of a patient's medical record.
