Clinical Trials

The Oklahoma Diabetes Center typically conducts numerous clinical trials relating to the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. A list of studies that are currently recruiting is provided below for those who may be interested in volunteering in clinical studies.

If you are considering volunteering for a clinical trial, there are many things to think about. Understanding the basics of clinical trials and the process can help you make a more informed decision. The Oklahoma Diabetes Center recommends reading a short introduction to clinical trials before you decide to volunteer. The introduction helps answer these questions:

  • What is a clinical trial?
  • What do the different phases of clinical trials mean?
  • What is the importance of an informed consent?
  • Where can I learn more information about clinical trials?

Our Volunteer Registry

Our Volunteer Registry is a database of people who are interested in diabetes research. You do NOT have to have diabetes to participate in the registry. We use the registry to locate people who qualify for certain research studies. If you qualify for a research study based on the information in our registry, we contact and provide you with all the essential information you will need to make an informed decision about participating. There is NO requirement to participate. You can get involved with the Volunteer Registry by reading the section below.
