|I was diagnosed with TTP Oct. 2009 with no other complications, thank God. I immediately began Plasma treatments and took my last one Jan. 14, 2010. My platlet and LDH counts seems to be stable but my doctor is concerned about me returning to work to soon. I feel great and have felt this way during the entire process. I feel that I'm ready to return to work but don't want to move to quick. Should I be taking this likely since I feel great?

|My son got admitted into the hospital last week. His platelets count was 2000. My son is 10 weeks old. He had no signs other that 3-4 red spots on forehead. Doctors are suspecting its ITP. But it is not conformed. The hematologist had put him on IVIG for 2 days but the count did not improve. On 3rd day doctor put him on WinRho. On 4th day the count went up to 13,000. They put him in observation for 1 day without any medication and after that the count is 10,000. Doctor told us, that count can vary. It can go up and down a little and asked us to go home. We got discharged today. Doctor asked us to come back after 3 days for blood test and of course in the mean time if we see any symptoms asked us to go to emergency. In the mean time there were many many blood tests. What we were told was the other cell counts are all normal except the platelets. The initial bone marrow test showed negative for Leukemia. They are doing more DNA(genetic) testing on bone marrow. I am not sure what they are looking for. Doctor was saying something about viscot syndrome. We are really scared and don't know what to do other than listening to doctor. Also our doc (hematologist) told that after 3 days if the counts remain same or go down we might need to put my son on steroids. BTW my son is admitted into CHOC (St Joseph hospital in orange county)
We would like to know how serious is this condition. Is this life threatening? What question do I need to ask doctor. I really appreciate if you could respond.

|My fiance has had ITP for some time now. We were wondering if anyone might know of an insurance company that might cover him. As far as we can tell he is out of luck but maybe someone out there might know something we've missed.
