Thank you very much for this site and to all that have contributed. I was diagnosed with TTP in 02/03 and have had 5 episodes. It's nice to know that someone not only has heard of the disorder but exactly understands the disorder. I wouldn't wish this disorder on my worst enemy.

Hello Dr and team, Yes I definitely agree this website and your information is the best and easiest to understand. I was diagnosed with TTP after giving birth in Feb.2009. I hemmorrhoged out and had congestive heart failure, pulmonary failure, and kidney failure all at the same time. I was in a coma for 10 days and the fifth day into it, Dr. Veracruze diagnosed the TTP. I went through 36 plasma exchanges every day washing 5 liters of my blood at a time and I do believe you were contacted for input because it wasn't working. Then I was given Vincristine and Rytuxin (together) for 4 weeks and that finally put me into remission. After 9 wks of being in the hospital, I was glad to get home to my baby and family at that. My kidneys and heart have bounced back but I am suffering from horrific migraines on a weekly basis. Are the migraines expected or common in TTP patients? My anxiety and PTSD is pretty bad because I'm in fear about relapse especially with the flu paranoia and am haunted by the nightmares I had in the coma. My bloodwork is still being monitored, it was a weekly basis and now monthly.
