Had a good friend who developed TTP and was dead in 2 weeks, had not obvious illness, thought he had gotten the flu, had history of late diagnosed Lymes disease, had recently started taking Chantix to quit smoking. Is there any corelation as to what would cause or contribute to the development of this disease and is there any new developments in the treament of the disease besided chemo and plasmaphoresis.

I am looking for help treating my itp. I cannot afford to keep health insurance or to pay for medical treatment. I was diagnosed with itp in 2002. My platelet count is rarely over 80,000. I have not been able to maintain treatment for the last two years. Could someone please referr me to someone who can help me?

I'm looking for information for my Brother who developed ITP since he was 9 years old now 41 he developed Scirosis of Liver where can I research help for a transplant, he lives in Louisville kentucky thank you

My husband has ITP and has been hospitalized for the 3rd time due to his platlet count being 3000. He was also hospitalized 7 years ago for his hemaglobin being extremely low and had 27 pints of blood transfusion. We were thinking of having a baby, but am scaredn this could be heriditary - has there been any study that it can be carried down to kids? thanks.
