Emergency Blue Phones
In 1999 the University of Oklahoma implemented a plan to replace old out-dated emergency phones with the newer "Emergency Blue Phones" for the Health Sciences Center. The plan also called for the replacement of emergency phones in parking lots and structures on campus. The telephones automatically dial the OU HSC Police Department when the call button is pushed. The Police Communications Specialist has the ability to identify the location of the person calling, and will send Police Officers to the location of the caller to provide assistance.
