SPTA Mission:

• The OUHSC SPTA supports the mission of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) by promoting the physical therapy (PT) profession through education, experience and community involvement (Bylaws, Article II, 2009)

SPTA Purpose:

• to enhance the collegiate experience
• to facilitate interaction communication between the Oklahoma City (OKC) and Tulsa campuses
• to encourage involvement in both professional and community events at the city, state and national level (Bylaws, Article II, 2009)

Requirements for membership:

• Attend a minimum of two SPTA meetings per fall and spring semesters
• Attend a minimum of one SPTA meeting per summer semester
• Attain three community service points per fall and spring semesters
• Third-year SPTs unable to fulfill Membership Eligibility due to clinical obligations must attend a minimum of one SPTA meeting per fall and spring semesters and provide documentation of current APTA membership (Bylaws, Article III Section 1, 2009)
