2010 Habitat for Humanity - Tulsa

2010 Tulsa Run
SPTA members offered manual therapy to community members in the Tulsa Run Marathon.

2009 APTA National Conference
Allison Armstrong, Kelly Kuhlman, Amy Nguyen, and April Smith attended the 2009 APTA National Conference in Baltimore, MD. They attended several educational programs, experienced endowed lectures, and meet-and-greet sessions with physical therapy experts. Evening activities included Student Assembly meet-and-greet sessions, a Baltimore Orioles game, PT-PAC fundraiser at Geppi's Entertainment Museum, The Foundation Dinner Dance, where OUHSC SPTA was recognized for their contribution to the Marquette Challenge, and a delicious, but messy, crab dinner at the famous Obrycki's Crab House. Students were accompanied by current and former faculty including Professor Ferretti, Professor Newman, Dr. Jeffries, Dr. McEwen, and Professor Bill Elam as well as several members and leaders of OPTA.

2009 OPTA Annual Conference
SPTA members attended the Student Track at the 2009 OPTA Annual Meeting.

A Brush with Kindness
SPTA members joined Habitat for Humanity for “A Brush with Kindness” in Oklahoma City. Participants volunteered by painting, weather proofing, and doing minor construction on the homes of low-income families.

2008 Holiday Head Start
SPTA members joined the College of Allied Student Association to raise money and throw a holiday party for a local headstart program.

Students provided soft-tissue work, strectching, and helpful tips to each of the runners.

Trick-or-Treat for hunger
Students collected canned food items and donated them to the Salvation Army on October 30th.
