Course site request forms should be submitted each semester (or each year for clinical rotations/practicum sites). If your site is not associated with a catalog course, complete the Community Request Form instead.
Student enrollments start about 3 weeks before each semester. After the requested enrollment sections are mapped to the course site, update files are run nightly to add/drop students as needed. If additional enrollment sections are requested, students will populate in the classlist the day after the new sections have been mapped.
Want to try something new in Brightspace but worried about using your academic course? Faculty and staff may request a sandbox to practice creating course items within Brightspace. Contact Academic Technology to request a sandbox.
Multi-Course Request Spreadsheet
Have more than two courses to request? You can use the sample spreadsheet to request multiple academic courses for a semester. Send the completed spreadsheet and any questions to email@example.com.
Processing Course requests (New for Spring 2022)
From now until December 20, 2021, course requests for Spring 2022 will be created once a week. This is to help our office be more efficient during this time. Course requests whether by the single course request or the multiple course request spreadsheet should be in by 3pm on Thursdays to make it into the overnight process. Notification will be sent when the courses are ready for use.
Contact Academic Technology if there is an urgent need regarding course creation for the upcoming Spring semester.
BIG NEWS! There will be changes coming in 2022 for courses in Brightspace as we move to automate processes including course creation and faculty enrollments. Spring 2022 will be the last time courses will need to be requested unless it is a community or special case. We will share more information about this as the project moves along in the spring including how you will have courses copied, courses combined (cross-listed), and more.
