Turnitin solutions promote academic integrity, streamline grading and feedback, deter plagiarism, and improve student outcomes. Turnitin matches the text within an assignment by comparing a student's submission against an archive of internet documents, internet data, a repository of previously submitted papers, and subscription repository of periodicals, journals, and publications.

 Turnitin is integrated with the Brightspace by D2L learning management system within the Assignments tool and can be utilized when instructors turn the feature on for uploaded assignments.

If you wish to utilize Turninit outside Brightspace, you will need to request an account by contacting for a faculty/staff account.  You do not need an account to use Turnitin within Brightspace.

  • Students will access the Turnitin software through their D2L course sites or the Writing Center.
