Stop the Spread: Holiday Travel Guidance
Published May 20, 2020
Dear Health Sciences Center Colleagues,
This upcoming weekend includes the observance of Memorial Day, when we honor the men and women who have died while serving our country in the US military. Under pre-COVID circumstances, many in our workforce and community would typically celebrate this weekend with friends and family at home or away. This year please keep in mind the updated University guidance related to the COVID-19 Reporting & Screening Tool prior to the holiday weekend.
Dr. Doug Drevets, Chair of the HSC Infectious Diseases Department stated, “In the last week, Oklahoma and other states have relaxed their COVID-19 social distancing policies. Current testing data shows the SARS-CoV-2 virus is still circulating in nearly all communities, however, and that most individuals are still susceptible to infection. As you enjoy the holiday weekend, please continue to protect those among us who are at higher risk of having serious COVID-19 illness by social distancing, wearing a mask, and practicing excellent hand hygiene.”
For additional information on COVID-19, I have also included the HSC COVID-19 Resources Page. Thank you for your assistance in fighting COVID and helping our communities to stop the spread.
A very special thanks to all of our HSC students, staff, and faculty who have served and are serving our country.
