The application process for the 2015-2016 Sooner Heritage Scholarship has begun. The application deadline is June 1, 2015 and a completed 2015-2016 FAFSA must be received by the deadline.
Students awarded the Sooner Heritage scholarship must be enrolled at least half-time in Fall and Spring terms to retain their eligibility at the time of disbursement. Funds are not disbursed during the Summer term. The Sooner Heritage application process begins here. The process requires that you sign in using your HSC user name and password.
Notice of awards will be sent to recipients in August.
All students apply by completing the FAFSA. Eligible students will be considered each year as long as they remain in good academic standing. Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and typically exhausted by March 1.
Full-time University of Oklahoma employees who are enrolled in regular coursework at any OU campus are eligible for a tuition benefit that waives partial tuition and several fees. Please visit here for more details.
In December 2014, the OU Board of Regents approved enhancements to tuition assistance for dependent children of OU employees. Policies and forms are currently being developed to take advantage of this benefit. Details will be forthcoming in 2015.
Graduate and undergraduate applicants must have demonstrated financial need due to a family member who is afflicted with a neurological disease or disorder. Applicants should submit documentation of the illness with information regarding how the illness has affected the student financially.
The application process begins here on the Common OU Scholarship Application. Students log in using their HSC user name and password. In the "Scholarship Specific Questions" section, responses to questions 5a and 5b are used to determine initial eligibility.
The Physicians Manpower Training Commission's mission is to enhance medical care in rural and underserved areas by administering scholarship incentive programs for medical and nursing personnel. **Medical student scholarship applications are currently being accepted for students intending to practice in the area of Primary Care (specifically Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Ob/Gyn, General Internal Medicine, and Emergency Medicine) in communities outside the Oklahoma City or Tulsa metropolitan statistical areas. Funding is $15,000 per year, tax free.**
The Tulsa County Medical Society Scholarship Program encourages the participation of medical students in leadership activities in both the community and organized medicine in order to cultivate physician leaders of the future. To be eligible to apply, applicants must be a legal resident of the Tulsa metro area for at least the 5 previous years, must be enrolled at the OUHSC College of Medicine, and may be in their second, third, or fourth years.
