Class Descriptions

Boot Camp - The goal of this class is to improve your speed, endurance, agility, and strength. This class is intended for those who have at least moderate experience with exercise. Every class starts with warm-ups and dynamic stretching. Then you will perform a variety of endurance, speed, agility, and strength exercises followed by core exercises and then stretching.

Revolution Cycle - You’ll ride to the rhythm of powerful music in this indoor cycling workout and take on the terrain with your inspiring team coach, who leads the pack through hills, flats, mountain peaks, time trials and interval training. Definitely, a big calorie burner.

Core Training - The goal of this class is to exercise your core muscles. Exercises range from basic crunches to more complex movements. Increasing the strength and endurance of your core muscles will improve you posture, breathing during exercise, and prevent back pain associated with weak abdominals.

Senior Friends Water Aerobics - is rhythmic dance or exercise steps performed in usually chest deep water. The purpose is to enhance cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance. It is an exercise for all body parts like limbs, chest, abdomen, neck and back.

An innovative, automated system that delivers any type of fitness class on demand 7 days a week. It’s like having your own fitness instructor on call! You can take fitness classes on your own schedule!
If you can’t make it to one of the “LIVE” classes, don’t fret!! Try one of the options on the Fitness on Request System… It’s ready whenever you are. With over 45 classes of varying length and difficulty to choose from and 7 days a week access, you’ll find it hard to find an excuse not to get your workout. The University Health Club now offers this technological advancement in a group exercise experience. So get a couple of friends together, come to the Health Club at noon (or any other time there is not a “LIVE” class happening) and get a great workout with Fitness On Request!!
How does Fitness on Request Work?
Fitness on Request is operated from a stylish and user-friendly kiosk located directly in the studio. You simply log in to the kiosk and choose from a vast selection of classes. Yoga? You got it.! Strength training? Coming right up! Each class is directed by a high-energy, motivational instructor who appears on a big screen at the front of the studio. Classes are projected in Hi-definition video on a huge 133″ screen, and our state-of-the-art sound system helps you really enjoy the workout!
Is there an additional charge for Fitness on Request?
NO, It is FREE!
Can I use Fitness on Request whenever I choose?
It is available to use during the Health Club’s hours of operation anytime there is not a scheduled “LIVE” class. Stop by the Health Club during staffed hours and ask a fitness professional for a demonstration. The Fitness on Request system is user-friendly, intuitive, and easy to learn. You’ll be ready to get started with your favorite workouts in no time!
Do I have to be part of a group, or can I use Fitness on Request individually?
You can use Fitness on Request either in a group or individually. If there is a group class scheduled, you are welcome to join in. If there is not a group class scheduled, you are welcome to use Fitness on Request on an individual basis. Better still, bring a group of friends and schedule your own small group class!
What types of classes are offered by Fitness on Request?
Classes fall into four basic categories: Mind & Body, Cardio, Core, & Muscle Conditioning. There are many different types of classes as well as different levels of difficulty within each of these categories. You can exercise on your schedule and at the pace that is right for you!
