Update: HSC Masking Requirements

Published February 28, 2022

HSC Lifts Masking Requirement for Non-Patient-Facing Areas, Positions

University leadership, including the Emergency Operations Committee Executive team and medical and public health experts, has determined that based on the CDC’s recent guidance and the COVID-19 data for counties surrounding the campuses, the masking requirement for HSC and OU-Tulsa students and employees in non-patient-facing areas on campus is no longer required. Supervisors and teaching faculty will continue to identify patient-facing areas and responsibilities. Individuals must continue to comply with the masking requirements for off-campus facilities where they are assigned. As a reminder, masking is still required in university vehicles, including shuttles.

As always, wearing a mask provides protection to you and others you interact with, so wearing surgical-grade masks inside campus facilities is encouraged. Additionally, please continue to respect the choice of those who elect to continue wearing a mask, keeping in mind that we may not always be aware of the health conditions of our colleagues and their families.

Note: The masking directives for the OU Norman campus have not changed; masks are still encouraged on the Norman campus.

HSC and OU-Tulsa Events: Food Permitted

In addition, food at indoor events on campus is now permitted.
