Zoom Videoconferencing

Zoom

Zoom is a communications software available for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android that combines video conferencing, online meetings, chat and mobile collaboration. Instructors can use Zoom for two primary purposes:

Live Sessions (Synchronous)

  • Instructors can schedule Zoom meetings and post the meeting links in Brightspace.
  • Instructors and students will click on the meeting link at the appropriate time and conduct class as usual.

Pre-recorded Sessions Via Zoom (Asynchronous)

  • Record your Zoom session locally to you computer.
  • End the meeting and utilize Mediasite to host the recording.
  • Emed your recording into your Brightspace course.

How to create your OUHSC Zoom Account

HSC users with the following PeopleSoft “Titles” are automatically given an OU HIPAA Compliant Zoom Pro license:

  • Faculty
  • Staff
  • Student
  • Affiliate 
  • Resident
  • Volunteer
  • Fellow

Steps to create your OUHSC Zoom account:

  1. Browse to https://oklahoma.zoom.us/.
  2. Select the "Sign In" option. 
  3. Sign-in using your @ouhsc.edu email address and university password.
  4. Sign in. If you do not have the Zoom client installed, see below.
  5. View and download the HSC Academic Technology Zoom Quick Reference Guide.

Where to Find Support for Zoom

Step 1 - CONTACT YOUR TIER 1. Here is a list of HSC Tier 1 Videoconferencing Support contacts.

Browse to https://oklahoma.zoom.us/.

  1. Locate the "Zoom Support" button at the bottom of page.
  2. Enter your search topic in the “How can we help?” search field.
  3. Browse to the Frequently Asked Questions webpage for additional Zoom resources.
