Professional Practice Gap: Due to the complexity of serious neurologic illnesses, the implementation of Palliative Care into the practice of Neurology will help improve communication between patients and their medical team, assist in decision-making, and achieve outcomes important to patients and their families.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this session, participants will improve their competence and performance by being able to:

  1. Explore history of Palliative Medicine.
  2. Identify areas of improvement when managing a serious neurologic illness.
  3. Outline ways to integrate Palliative Care into the Neurology practice.
